PlayStation State of Play delivered a raft of trailers and release dates, but the biggest surprise was how many major titles are clustered in late September. With publishers steering clear of November amid GTA 6's shadow, Silent Hill: Townfall, Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Control Resonant now sit just a day apart.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is set to release on September 25, while Silent Hill: Townfall is scheduled for September 24. Remedy confirmed Control Resonant for September 24 with a new trailer that sets up the game's story and characters and appeared more compelling than earlier previews.

Other reveals from the showcase include Marvel's Wolverine on September 15 and Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve on October 2, highlighting an unusually packed early autumn for gaming. With Rockstar holding GTA 6 for November 19, many publishers are positioning major releases outside that month.
