Jason Statham's Shelter Tops Sydney Sweeney's The Housemaid on Starz

Shelter has overtaken Sydney Sweeney's The Housemaid as the most popular movie on Starz this week, pushing The Housemaid to second place and Nicolas Cage's 2018 thriller 211 to third. The Housemaid had held the top spot for weeks after it arrived on the platform and, following a strong theatrical run and digital performance, earned just shy of $400 million worldwide.

Directed by Paul Feig, The Housemaid stars Sweeney alongside Amanda Seyfried. On her first day on the job, the newly hired housemaid encounters Nina's demanding behavior and is protected by Nina's husband, Andrew; that protection turns romantic, and the couple conceal a dark secret.

The film was credited with helping revive the erotic thriller genre. Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, Shelter features Jason Statham as Michael Mason, a former assassin living in solitude in Scotland. He finds a young girl during a dangerous storm, discovers she is being pursued by dangerous men, and must use his skills to save her while confronting his own demons.
