Anthony C. Ferrante, who directed all six Sharknado films and the upcoming prequel Sharknado Origins, has released a new short: the official live-action film for Dave the Diver: In the Jungle. The piece runs about 10 minutes and is available on YouTube.

Instead of sharks or tornadoes, the short focuses on Dave and his companions battling Sulong, an enormous crocodile featured as one of the expansion's bosses. The film embraces a silly, cheesy tone; casting is serviceable while production values recall mid-range cosplay, matching the Asylum’s appetite for quick, affordable genre fare.

Ferrante’s connection to reptilian material shows up elsewhere — he co-wrote the song "Meth Gator" for the Asylum film Meth Gator, and that track appears in the Dave the Diver credits. The writer said they were largely on board with the short’s cheesiness but found the depiction of Bancho with a glued-on Party City beard to be a notable misstep.
