No Rest for the Wicked will reach PS5 with its 1.0 update this October, and the same update is set to arrive on Steam at launch. Moon Studios lists Xbox and Switch releases as "TBD" on its official site, leaving Xbox fans waiting beyond the PS5 and PC rollouts.

Moon Studios CEO and game director Thomas Mahler says the delay isn’t down to a timed exclusivity deal, but to the lower-powered Xbox Series S. He described the smaller console as a continuing burden for multiplatform development, making it difficult to match the performance of the Series X.

Mahler kept it blunt on the studio’s Discord: "Series S is making that rough." He added, "We'll ship it after in a good way once it's optimized like crazy for Switch 2 and Xbox," and quipped that "Series S and mobile specs aren't too far apart at this point," a point that resonates a bit when Xbox Cloud gaming is considered.
