Scott Adkins Directs and Stars in Martial Arts Thriller Brawler
Scott Adkins, seen recently in Netflix’s The Rip and John Wick: Chapter 4, will both direct and star in Brawler, a new martial arts thriller in which he goes up against Lewis Tan.
The story follows a disgraced MMA champion pulled into a violent underworld by the sins of his past; armed only with his fists, he must fight hitmen, criminal gangs, and his own inner demons to protect those he loves.
Adkins shared several images from the film, including an AI mock-up that hints at the beating his character will take, and said he has spent recent weeks editing the movie. He described it as 'very gritty, personal and emotional' with 'no holds barred fight scenes' and promised more to come.
Brawler marks Adkins’s directorial debut and joins several other projects on his slate, such as Skyline: Warpath with Iko Uwais, the one-take finale One Last Shot, and the period-set Bedlam. He and Tan are also set to reunite for Deadlocked.
