Scarlett Johansson’s most provocative film to date, the 2013 R-rated sci-fi thriller Under the Skin, will move to free streamer Tubi on July 1. Directed by Jonathan Glazer, the movie stars Johansson as "The Female," an extraterrestrial who preys on lone men in Scotland, luring them into her van and, as she sends them “into the void,” developing a growing curiosity about humanity and her own identity.

Much of the picture was shot with hidden cameras: Johansson drove around Glasgow in character, striking up conversations with men and obtaining permission afterward to include the encounters. Produced for around $13 million, Under the Skin earned $7.2 million worldwide but went on to win awards and secure strong critical praise, including an 83% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Johansson has major projects on the horizon.
