After 14 years of using Docs, Sheets, Slides, Photos and uploads I had about 340GB in Google storage, well beyond the free 15GB. I was on Google AI Pro for $19.99 a month, which includes 5TB of storage and access to the Gemini 3 Pro model, but I rarely use Gemini enough to justify the cost.

When Google cut the AI Plus plan to $4.99 a month and increased its storage to 400GB, it suddenly covered my needs while still offering Gemini access and AI features like NotebookLM, Proofread and AI Inbox in Gmail; Google said the usage limits are “twice as high” as the free tier.

To change plans you need a Google account with a Google One plan and access to your Google One settings on the web or via the mobile app. On the web the dashboard shows your current plan and how much space is used across Drive, Gmail and Photos; in the mobile app storage appears at the top of the Home screen and the current plan at the bottom.
