Savannah Guthrie Says Gwyneth Paltrow’s Arugula Meatball Hack Is ‘Very Good’
On May 27, Goop founder and Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow visited TODAY to share a turkey meatball recipe and an unexpected ingredient swap: "If you want to avoid dairy, one trick I do is I dice up arugula and I put it in," she said while mixing ingredients.
Savannah Guthrie initially reacted with skepticism—"Really? That's weird,"—and her not-quite-convinced "ohh, okay" drew plenty of online laughter. A few days later, Guthrie and Carson Daly joined co-hosts Craig Melvin, Jenna Bush Hager, Al Roker and Sheinelle Jones for a side-by-side taste test during the June 1 broadcast.
The panel found both the parmesan version and the arugula version tasty; Daly observed, "That doesn't taste like a substitute for dairy," Melvin said, "That's pretty good!," and Guthrie concluded, "I actually think they're very good, maybe the arugula [is] even better.
