Sarah Snook to Star in Reimagined The Birds Limited Series
Sarah Snook will headline a new limited-series adaptation of The Birds that draws directly from Daphne du Maurier’s short story rather than attempting a shot-for-shot remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s film. The project is billed as a reimagining that expands the terror to fit a longer runtime.
The series introduces traveling magistrate Myra Massey (Snook) as she returns to her isolated Alaskan hometown for a routine presumptive death hearing, expecting a simple cold case. Instead she finds her childhood friend’s bullet-ridden body, is forced to step outside her role as judge to untangle the mystery, and experiences nature itself turning hostile with a wave of bird attacks.
Now Myra isn’t just trying to close a case; she’s fighting to survive in a place where death lurks in both the shadows and the skies.
