The Samsung R95H uses Micro RGB display technology with redesigned focusing lenses for separate red, green and blue LED backlights to reduce color bleed and blooming, sharpen contrast and reproduce up to 100% of the BT.2020 color gamut. That combination positions the R95H as a notable entry claiming chromatic fidelity and luminance performance comparable to OLED; after nearly a decade of testing, the reviewer found the results surprising.

In a controlled lab evaluation the TV underwent standardized empirical testing using Calman calibration software, a Murideo 6G 8K Metal Generator and spectroradiometric equipment. Testing focused on the BT.2020 color spectrum with the set in filmmaker mode, brightness optimization off and a 10% pattern used in Calman.

SDR (Rec. 709) measurements were strong: a Delta‑E of 1.84 — generally considered perceptually perfect — Rec. 709 gamut coverage of 97.28% and default luminance of 191 nits (local dimming high with brightness maxed reached 2,095 nits).
