Sadie Sink surprised by speculation over top-secret Spider-Man role

Sadie Sink said she was taken aback by how much speculation surrounded her top-secret role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. "It was so exciting," she told Fandango, adding that she grew up watching the MCU and found joining the cast "very surreal." She joked, "I really like the character and that's all I'll say!" Her character remains a major mystery.

While many fans suspect the Stranger Things star is playing Jean Grey, that won’t be confirmed until the film arrives; the movie’s synopsis, however, hints at an unseen villain and suggests someone with psychic powers could face Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Sink also noted the familiarity of reuniting with director Destin Daniel Cretton, calling it "such a full circle moment" after working with him on The Glass Castle when she was 14.

"He was always just the same as he is now: Just such a leader [and] makes you feel so comfortable," she said.
