Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's SailGP Team to Star in Disney+ Series
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are reuniting for a docuseries built around their professional SailGP team. Disney+ has greenlit the project from Reynolds and Rob Mac, and it will stream on Disney+ and Hulu, following the Bonds Flying Roos. The show will follow the team across a global racing season “defined by speed, pressure and high stakes,” building toward a stadium-style championship where identical 50-foot catamarans race close-to-shore at speeds of up to 100 km/h.
The Australia-based squad competes in the Rolex SailGP Championship and is led by driver and CEO Tom Slingsby, the London 2012 Olympic gold medalist in the Men’s Laser class. On the series, Jackman and Reynolds said: "This is our first collaboration since 'Deadpool and Wolverine,' and we once again anticipate action, comedy, heart but with a lot more water.
And (fingers crossed) pirates.
