RWBY cast give slim Volume 10 update and share hopes for the show's future

Fans have been waiting since Volume 9 premiered in 2023. Rooster Teeth shut down in 2024, creating uncertainty until Viz Media acquired the IP, and showrunner Kerry Shawcross later confirmed that Volume 10 was in development in 2025 — but few concrete updates have followed.

At a panel moderated by Maggie Lovitt at Big Lick Comic Con NOVA at the Manassas Mall, the core voice cast — Lindsay Jones (Ruby), Kara Eberle (Weiss), Arryn Zech (Blake) and Barbara Dunkelman (Yang) — answered questions about the series and its future. When asked about new episodes, Jones said only that Volume 10 has been announced as being worked on and that the cast had nothing more to share.

The actors did offer personal wishes for what comes next under Viz. Dunkelman said she wants Yang to interact more with Sun Wukong (Michael Jones), even joking about a push-up contest, while Jones said she’d like to see more scenes between Yang and Qrow (Jason Liebrecht), given Qrow’s attention to Ruby.
