Rumors of a new Wario game grow ahead of tomorrow's Nintendo Direct

With a Nintendo Direct set for tomorrow, speculation is focused on a potential Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake — but Wario could steal the spotlight. On June 7, leaker noarmsandnolegs shared a gif of Wario alongside Link, a post that aligns with earlier leaks suggesting a new Wario Land title could arrive in 2027.

The leaker, who flagged Rayman Legends Retold and Spyro: A Realm Beyond before their official reveals at Summer Game Fest, later posted a more direct claim: "A new Wario game is coming. Wahahaha." They added that they could not confirm whether it would be a Wario Land entry and noted an increase in Wario appearances recently, including Wario World on Nintendo Switch Online and a Wario Land track in Mario Kart World.

If the announcement isn't Wario Land, a new WarioWare game is the next likely possibility. The most recent WarioWare release, WarioWare: Move It!, arrived in 2023, so a follow-up would not be unprecedented.
