Ruben Amorim set to become AC Milan manager on two-year deal
Ruben Amorim is set to return to the touchline after reaching agreement to become AC Milan's next manager. The Portuguese tactician, out of work since his dismissal from Manchester United in January, is expected to sign an initial two-year deal to replace Massimiliano Allegri at the San Siro.
The 41-year-old has agreed a contract that will keep him at the San Siro until 2028, with an option for an additional season. His base salary will be €3.5 million per season, supplemented by performance-related bonuses tied to silverware and securing a return to the Champions League.
Amorim is awaiting final approval from Gerry Cardinale, head of RedBird Capital; once sanctioned he is expected to travel to Milan to sign and begin preparations. Milan had considered alternatives such as Matthias Jaissle, but Amorim’s free-agent status allowed the club to avoid paying a release clause.
