Saturday in São Paulo the U.S. Women’s National Team plays Brazil in the first of two friendlies as it prepares for Concacaf World Cup qualifying. It is the USA’s first trip to Brazil since 2014; historically the four-time world champions hold a 34W-4L-5D record against As Canarinhas.

This meeting is also the sides’ first since the 2024 Olympic gold- and silver-medal-winning teams split two friendlies last April. All eyes are on the reunited attack. Mallory Swanson earned her first call-up since October 2024 after giving birth in November and has already appeared for the Chicago Stars this month, scoring within limited minutes.

She joins Trinity Rodman and Sophia Wilson in camp — a trio Emma Hayes called back with unmistakable delight, saying “Our caffeine is home.” Hayes has urged patience as she reintegrates the group, but their presence could change the game on Saturday. Choices in goal and on the back line also matter.
