Rockstar veteran says GTA 6's higher price makes sense

Now that GTA 6 pre-orders are finally live and folks are spending their hard-earned money on Rockstar Games' next big hit, some of the community is sharing its dismay at the price — which, yeah, isn't exactly cheap. GTA 6 costs at least $80 – the Ultimate Edition, which controversially contains a lot of content people thought would be in the base game (you know, like certain customization shops and whatnot), is a whopping $100.

Former Rockstar technical director Obbe Vermeij, who worked on GTA 3, 4, San Andreas, Vice City, and more, responded to a disappointed fan on Twitter who noted the GTA 6 price is a good $20 more than "the average AAA game" in Canada.
