Robbie Fowler warns Alexander Isak's World Cup could hinder pre-season fitness

Robbie Fowler said he is a little worried about Alexander Isak's fitness this year, pointing out the striker arrived at Liverpool not fully fit.

Fowler noted Isak had looked better when he returned to the team, then suffered a broken leg and subsequently played only a few games while still not fully recovered.

With Isak named in Sweden's World Cup squad, Fowler warned the tournament could prevent him getting a full pre-season and leave only a short turnaround on his return, meaning he might not be as fit as Liverpool fans would hope — though Fowler said he hopes to be proved wrong.
