Ricky Gervais' Alley Cats brings an 'Avengers of British comedy' cast
Ricky Gervais premiered his new adult animated series Alley Cats at the Annecy International Film Festival, where Netflix hosted a masterclass and a world‑exclusive screening of the first two episodes. The six‑part slacker sitcom follows a clowder of street cats as they navigate urban life, musing on the meaning of life while causing havoc.
The show is created, directed, and co‑produced by Gervais and features bold 2D animation glimpsed in the trailer and posters. Gervais voices Gus, described as a "fat, lazy, rude and opinionated creature with fangs," alongside Diane Morgan as Olive, David Earl as Puke, Tom Basden as Ponce, Kerry Godliman as Lara, Andrew Brooke as Fang, and Jo Harley as Kitten.
