Capcom announced a Resident Evil Veronica remake during Summer Game Fest 2026, dropping the "Code" from the original title. There is no release date yet, but Capcom plans to launch Resident Evil Veronica sometime in 2027. The trailer places Claire Redfield in a run-down Paris apartment and plays out in first-person, a la Grace Ashcroft from Resident Evil Requiem.

An elderly woman has been looking after Claire's brother and even makes a boulder joke; when she disappears, someone else steps in and kidnaps Claire. The original Code Veronica launched in 2000 on Sega Dreamcast, and Capcom reissued it as Code Veronica X in 2001 on PlayStation 2 with new cinematics.

A 2011 high-resolution remaster arrived for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3; both re-releases kept the original "tank" controls and made no gameplay changes.
