Deacon, 22, recreated his father Ryan Phillippe’s 2001 "Legally Blonde" red carpet look at the "Elle" premiere, arriving in a black suit with a pink tie, Ray‑Ban sunglasses and slicked‑back hair. Witherspoon also nodded to the original premiere in a pink custom Monse lace dress with off‑the‑shoulder puff sleeves.

Phillippe was her date at the time and attended the "Legally Blonde 2" premiere two years later; the film came out five years before the couple split and they divorced in 2006 after seven years of marriage. Deacon attended the event as his mother’s date; his sister Ava, 26, and Witherspoon’s son Tennessee, 13, were not present.
