Reese Witherspoon Says She Keeps the Legally Blonde Wardrobe

Reese Witherspoon offered an update on the whereabouts of the pink outfits from Legally Blonde during her June 22 appearance on The Tonight Show. The discussion came up as the show's prequel, Elle, set nine years before Legally Blonde and starring Lexi Minetree, is underway.

Less than a week earlier Minetree had worn the same dress Witherspoon wore 25 years earlier to the film's premiere. Witherspoon said she keeps the entire Legally Blonde wardrobe in storage and that she and Minetree share the same stylist. "I have all the wardrobes in storage," she told Jimmy Fallon, adding that she sent Minetree "as many dresses as they wanted" and told them to "Choose any dress that you want for her." She noted the dress fit Minetree "perfectly" — "like Cinderella's slipper" — and praised the younger actor for picking up many of Elle Woods' small details.

Witherspoon sounded clearly enthusiastic about Minetree stepping into the role, and offered the wardrobe as a resource if needed.
