Redknapp warns Tuchel could quit after 'disastrous' World Cup
Thomas Tuchel accepted the England manager’s job and has already been handed a contract extension through Euro 2028. He oversaw a flawless World Cup qualifying run — picking up maximum points and conceding no goals — but some have raised eyebrows at an early renewal before competitive tournaments have been played.
Harry Redknapp called the extension "a strange decision" and warned that a poor World Cup could change everything. "If England have a disastrous World Cup, he's going to get some grief, let's be truthful... If we have a disastrous World Cup then I think you'll get so much grief you probably won't want to stick around!" he said.
Tuchel has also ruffled a few feathers with big selection calls in his 26-man World Cup squad. Redknapp lamented the dwindling number of true entertainers in the game, praising Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and Eberechi Eze as players he enjoys watching and urging more dribbling and one-on-one bravery rather than constant passing.
