The Reckless Ben vs. Bricks & Minifigs Saga, So Far
Ben “Reckless” Schneider’s effort to recover a roughly $200,000 Lego Star Wars collection has become a sprawling dispute involving the Mansell family, a Bricks & Minifigs franchise in Salem, Oregon, and the company’s franchising arm. The Mansells say they consigned the collection to the Salem store and that, after Bricks & Minifigs Franchising issued a termination and repossessed inventory, some of the Lego remained in the store.
Bricks & Minifigs Franchising and subsequent franchisees maintain the Mansells’ agreement was with the previous owners and that they do not have the collection; the Mansells say new owners Brandon Best and Joshua Johnson effectively took it. Schneider, known for earlier videos about slacklining and investigations into controversial organizations, released an initial investigation video alleging the Mansells’ collection was stolen and pressing Bricks & Minifigs on the corporate and legal details of the consignment.
