Real Madrid to trigger €9m Nico Paz buy-back, offer Como €60m

Real Madrid will formally notify Como that they intend to trigger the €9m buy-back clause for Nico Paz and are due to meet the Serie A club today. The Spanish side plan to immediately offer Como the chance to keep the 21-year-old for a €60m package; if Como decline, Madrid will look to sell him elsewhere, as he is not in their immediate first-team plans.

The proposal would allow Madrid to generate a substantial profit on an academy graduate who left for northern Italy on a permanent four-year deal for a reported €6m in August 2024. Como would be given first refusal ahead of their historic European campaign; if no agreement is reached, interested clubs include Inter and several wealthy Premier League sides.

Paz enjoyed a standout season, scoring 12 league goals and adding six assists as Como secured a top-four finish and Champions League qualification. He led Serie A midfielders in non-penalty goal contributions and shots on target per 90 minutes, earned 10 senior caps for Argentina and is part of the current World Cup squad.
