Rafael Leão, long linked with a move to FC Bayern, has publicly announced his departure from AC Milan. "I'm proud to have made history at Milan, but I want to start a new chapter in my career," Leão told Portuguese channel Sport TV. "I feel ready to play in a different league.

I've given my all for Milan, but it's time to take on new challenges." His remarks hint at an early exit this summer despite a contract running until 2028. Milan failed to qualify for the Champions League after finishing fifth in Serie A, prompting a shake-up that included manager Massimiliano Allegri and sporting director Igli Tare.

Although his contract carries a €175m release clause, the club would reportedly accept around €50m. Bayern monitored Leão last year and held talks with his representatives, but discussions stalled after sporting director Max Eberl halted negotiations. Bayern instead signed Luis Díaz, who became a key player as the club won the domestic double and reached the Champions League semi-finals.
