He quit his job to make AI videos on YouTube and now earns more
Jonathan Laramy, 32, left a customer-service job in June 2025 to focus full time on Chloe VS History, a YouTube channel built around an AI-generated influencer who visits moments like the Titanic's maiden voyage and Pompeii. The channel now brings in more than his former wage, but the gains came only after he refined both the creative approach and the production process.
Chloe is presented as a modern vlogger and required careful crafting: Laramy generated five to 10 character versions before settling on one and then spent significant time shaping her personality and dialogue. His workflow stitches together several AI tools—Claude for ideation and script structure; PAI 2 (from Utopai Studios) with Nano Banana Pro and ChatGPT 2.0 for images; Seedance 2.0 to turn images into clips; and an AI voice model to keep Chloe’s voice consistent.
Scenes are reviewed, adjusted, regenerated, and edited until they feel right, and historical videos often need extra passes to remove anachronisms like street lamps or sunglasses.
