Quentin Tarantino is right that Toy Story 4 and 5 are unnecessary
Quentin Tarantino has a habit of sharing blunt opinions about movies. He drew backlash after criticizing Paul Dano’s performance in There Will Be Blood and, despite naming Toy Story 3 the second best film of the 21st century behind Black Hawk Down, he refuses to watch the later Toy Story entries because he believes they could mar what he calls a perfect trilogy.
Even a direct plea from Toy Story 5 director Andrew Stanton and producer Lindsey Collins hasn’t changed his mind. This article contains spoilers for the full Toy Story series. John Lasseter’s Toy Story was revolutionary when it premiered in 1995 as Pixar’s first feature and the first major film made entirely with computer animation, followed by Toy Story 2 in 1999.
Pixar’s hot streak in the 2000s — including Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars and Up — was capped by Toy Story 3 in 2010.
