Paris Saint-Germain successfully defended their Champions League crown, winning 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Arsenal. Ousmane Dembele scored from the spot to level in the second half, and after Nuno Mendes had his penalty saved the Gunners twice fired off target in the shootout before Gabriel Magalhaes blazed over to hand the European Cup back to PSG.

The game began badly for PSG when Marquinhos’ clearance ricocheted into the path of Kai Havertz, who broke clear and powered a shot past Matvey Safonov. PSG dominated possession thereafter but struggled to fashion clear chances; Fabian Ruiz headed over late in the first half and then saw an angled drive fumbled by David Raya, while Marquinhos produced a last-ditch block to deny Havertz a second.

After the break PSG kept the ball and drew level when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was brought down by Cristhian Mosquera and Dembele converted the penalty.
