'Project Hail Mary' Confirms Streaming Release Date
Project Hail Mary will make its streaming debut on MGM+ on June 18, 2026. This comes three months after its theatrical run and following a digital release last month.
The Ryan Gosling-led sci-fi adventure has grossed just over $680 million worldwide and earned strong reviews, holding a 94% critics score and a 95% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, placing it among the upper echelons of recent science fiction.
Based on the book by Andy Weir and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the film follows middle school science teacher-turned-astronaut Ryland Grace as he wakes aboard a spaceship light years from home with no memory and must unravel a mission to stop the sun from dying — aided, eventually, by an alien with whom he must learn to communicate.
MGM+ is owned by Amazon after the studio acquired the platform formerly known as EPIX. The service is ad-free and available either on its own or through Amazon’s Prime Video platform for $7.99 per month.
