Producer says he was meant to be on doomed Oliver Tree helicopter
Music producer Victor WAO revealed he was meant to be on the helicopter that later crashed, killing Oliver Tree and five others. In a translated tribute he wrote, “I was supposed to be with you guys in that helicopter, and I didn’t go at the last second.” Victor said he pulled out because he was scared of flying and that his friend Lucas Frota had arranged a car to take him to Angra so someone else would go in his place.
He added, “Now I owe you my life, brother. I don’t know what to do at this moment. I love you so much! I will never forget you!” and called Lucas the “most enlightened and wonderful person I have ever known.” The mid-air collision in Rio de Janeiro killed six people: Frota, 24; Tree, 32; Lucas Vignale, 29; Gaspar Prim (also known as Argentinian YouTuber Gaspi), 23; and pilots Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac.
A video showed one aircraft plunging into a car dealership parking lot and setting at least 20 electric vehicles ablaze.
