At the 2026 Trooping the Colour, 12-year-old Prince George stifled a sneeze while the royal family stood on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Royal Air Force flypast. As the anthem ended he covered his nose and mouth and sneezed, then shared a laugh with his mother, the Princess of Wales.

The Princess put a hand on her eldest child’s back as George, Prince William, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, waved to the crowd and left the balcony. Earlier in the day Middleton herself had sneezed at Horse Guards Parade. It was Louis who again drew attention with a series of animated expressions, including a shocked look as he surveyed the spectators.

He also joined his mother on the carriage procession and has become known for playful antics, previously continuing to wave after others lowered their hands and dancing along in 2024. Trooping the Colour, held each June to mark the sovereign’s official birthday, brings together more than 1,400 soldiers, horses and musicians on Horse Guards Parade.
