Prime Video Cancels Aubrey Plaza's Animated Sitcom 'Kevin'

Amazon Prime Video has canceled Kevin, an adult animated sitcom about a neurotic tuxedo cat voiced by Jason Schwartzman. After the human couple who cared for him split, the cat moves out and ends up living in a pet rescue in Astoria, Queens with other misfit animals.

The series featured Aubrey Plaza, Whoopi Goldberg, John Waters and Amy Sedaris in leading roles, with guest turns from Quinta Brunson and Cary Elwes. Plaza created the show with her former partner Joe Wengert, drawing on their real-life experience of living together in New York and sharing a tuxedo cat named Kevin.

Plaza announced the cancellation on Instagram: "Amazon Prime is not picking up Kevin for another season. Very disappointing since we were just getting going." She referenced Parks & Rec, said she hoped the show could find new life elsewhere and mentioned "the machines," a phrase the report suggested may refer to AI's growing role in the industry.
