Prime Video Adapts Ali Hazelwood's 'Love, Theoretically'
Prime Video has leaned into swoon-worthy YA and romance projects, from Off Campus to Every Year After, even hosting an Obsessed Fest celebrating the creatives, casts and fandoms behind those titles. At the top of its list sits The Love Hypothesis, the feature adaptation of Ali Hazelwood's novel about a Ph.D student whose faux relationship with an intimidating professor turns into something more real; the book was notably Star Wars-inspired.
The streamer is doubling down on Hazelwood. The New York Times bestselling author's follow-up novel, Love, Theoretically, is now also getting the feature treatment at the Amazon-owned streamer, with Colleen Hoover producing alongside Lauren Levine and Magic Hour Entertainment's Max Siemers and Tanner Anderson.
Sofia Alvarez will take the reins of the adaptation after spearheading Netflix's take on Sarah Dessen's Along for the Ride, and she and Hazelwood both executive produce.
