Prime Day is retro heaven for remakes and remasters

Prime Day is a great time to pick up discounts on gaming, though this time around Amazon has to contend with the long-awaited GTA 6 pre-orders — even with physical editions just being a code in a box instead of on disc.

Rather than sweating new-game FOMO, why not catch up on some classics while you wait? Not everything you play has to be the newest game, and not every retro choice has to be completely old either.

Over this year's Prime Day gaming deals there are a large number of retro game remakes and remasters, ranging from faithful ports and recreations to luscious rebuilds. Below, I've collected the remakes and remasters I genuinely think are well worth playing, many at some of the lowest prices I've seen yet.
