Portugal beat Uzbekistan 5-0 in their World Cup 2026 match. Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 7th minute and added a second on 39, Mendes scored in the 17th, Uzbekistan’s Ganiev pulled one back on 29, Khusanov turned a corner into his own net on 60 and Rafa Leão finished the scoring in the 88th.
Portugal controlled large parts of the game, and VAR intervened to rule out a Portugal goal after a foul by Cancelo. Uzbekistan nevertheless offered moments of threat and created several chances, but Portugal’s finishing and the own goal proved decisive.
Both teams made several second-half changes: Portugal brought on Semedo, Neto, Trincão, Bernardo Silva and Rafa Leão, while Uzbekistan introduced Alizhonov and Mozgovoy. A hydration break came in the second half and both goalkeepers, Diogo Costa and Abduvohid Nematov, produced notable saves.
