Pokémon Officially Gives Galar Its Long-Awaited Moment in the Spotlight

Pokémon Sword and Shield introduced memorable characters like Leon, Marnie and Hop and brought players to one of the franchise's most distinctive regions. Despite that success, Galar often felt like a generation the series was eager to move past as attention shifted to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

That appears to be changing. The official synopsis for Pokémon's upcoming stop-motion collaboration with Aardman, Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, confirms the series will take place in Galar — a small detail that matters: rather than debuting a new region or revisiting Kanto, the franchise is returning to one of its newest settings and making it the primary focus for a major project.

Galar's strength has always been its world: a United Kingdom–inspired mix of rolling countryside, medieval architecture, industrial landmarks and cozy villages.
