PlayStation to Remove 551 StudioCanal Films From Customers' Libraries
Sony is notifying PlayStation Store customers who bought movies distributed by StudioCanal—including Terminator 2, Total Recall and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind—that those titles will be removed from their video libraries and will no longer be accessible. The notice makes no mention of refunds or compensation, saying the films are being removed "due to our content licensing agreements." The message, shared on X by user somatyk, said purchased movies would be deleted from accounts on September 1 and included a link to a full list of affected titles; PlayStation’s website now reproduces the warning alongside a list of 551 films and TV series being pulled.
StudioCanal titles such as From Dusk Till Dawn and Cliffhanger appear on the list. The PlayStation message offers no apology, simply stating that purchased content will be deleted. By accepting platform terms and EULAs, customers effectively agree that access can be revoked and ownership is conditional.
