Players spot tooth-count mistake on GTA 6 cover art
A Reddit user, ITehJelleh, noticed something odd about the alligator on the recently revealed Grand Theft Auto 6 cover art and counted its teeth: 60. The poster had been taken with the gator as a Florida icon, but the tally prompted a closer look. ITehJelleh pointed out that alligators normally have 74–80 teeth and go through continuous replacement, reportedly cycling through 2,000–3,000 teeth in a lifetime.
That leaves room for interpretation—the creature could be juvenile or in the middle of a replacement cycle, or the artwork might simply be inaccurate. Fans responded with jokes and disappointment, calling the reveal "Unplayable," comparing it to "another Cyberpunk release," and declaring "pre-order cancelled." Some suggested the 60 teeth might carry meaning.
"Could it potentially have a meaning?" one commenter asked, proposing theories such as another trailer in 60 days on August 17, 60 collectible dirt bikes, or opening the game with a fight against 60 gators.
