Players say Wardogs playtest felt 'like the good old days of gaming'
Wardogs is an upcoming first-person shooter from Bulkhead that aims to sit between casual series such as Battlefield and Call of Duty and more realistic games like Escape from Tarkov and Squad. A pre-alpha closed playtest for 4,000 players ran across two sessions on June 26–27; developers warned applicants that "If you don't show, you'll be swapped out for someone who will." Early reactions on social platforms were largely positive.
YouTube creator AirwingMarine wrote on X that "The movement and shooting felt really good, and the game ran great," adding it "takes all the stuff I personally love about Battlefield but also has that flare of progression and persistence to it that hooks you." Another creator, MrAtomicDuck, summed it up: "They've nailed it." Some players offered detailed feedback.
Game director Aherys praised performance, gunplay, vehicles and the game mode while noting enemies can be hard to spot in bushes, a visibility concern echoed by Reddit user Shoddy-Laugh-9629.
