PlatinumGames to helm TMNT: The Last Ronin; teaser debuts at Summer Game Fest

At Summer Game Fest, Paramount Games revealed that PlatinumGames has taken over development of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, a title first announced in 2023. The short teaser offers a cinematic look at a grim, futuristic New York and carries the tagline, "When all that remains is vengeance." The game adapts Kevin Eastman’s 2020 comic book, which follows the lone surviving Turtle wearing a black mask and wielding all four of the team’s weapons on a mission of revenge against the Foot Clan.

Like the source material, the project appears likely to target an older audience. Paramount’s Shawn Kittelsen said Platinum, which took the project late last year, proved to be "the right team" by pitching a blend of Platinum-style, high-octane combat and a strong emotional through-line.
