Disney and Pixar released the first teaser for Gatto, the studio's first 2D animated feature. Directed by Enrico Casarosa and set in Venice, the film is now scheduled for March 5, 2027 after a prior June 18, 2027 date; it will star Mark Ruffalo as Nero and Laurence Fishburne as Rocco, though much of the cast remains under wraps.

The teaser runs under a minute and concentrates on one long scene between three characters. Nero and Rocco interrogate a hostage cat about missing tuna, become distracted by a lightbulb that leads to a brief catfight, and watch as Rocco breaks the bulb in his mouth.

Gatto follows a water-fearing, scrappy black cat named Nero who is indebted to a feline mob boss and forced into the criminal underworld. He unexpectedly befriends a lonely street musician named Maya, who helps him discover his true place in life. Pixar chief creative officer Pete Docter has described Venice in the film as "a living painting" and "a dream world," while for Nero the city is portrayed as a nightmare.
