Pierre Dwomoh banned 11 matches for racist abuse of U21 team-mate
Former Watford midfielder Pierre Dwomoh has been suspended for 11 matches by the Football Association after an independent regulatory commission found he racially abused an Under-21 team-mate of Indian heritage. The commission described the conduct as "very serious" and "completely unacceptable." The incidents took place during pre-match warm-ups at the club’s London Colney training ground for Under-21 fixtures against Swansea City on October 27 and Colchester United on November 4, and included the comments "brown is not a colour" and "how is your corner shop going?" Watford removed Dwomoh from first-team contention, had him train away from the main group and has since terminated his contract.
The club said it supported the disciplinary process. The player had previously hinted at his departure via social media in April, around the time the initial suspension was back-dated to.
