Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a 2025 Game of the Year pick, is heavily discounted in the Steam Summer Sale: the base game is $24, and the Royal Edition, which includes three DLC story packs, is $32. A 90% review called it "a new RPG classic," praising its expansive Bohemian setting and a design that feels Oblivion-like while borrowing strengths from The Witcher 3, such as deep conversations, romance, and side quests that frequently outshine the main story.

On the DLC front, Joshua enjoyed the first pack that added shield painting but found it a bit slight, and there are better reports about the forge expansion and the monastery questline. To coincide with the sale, Warhorse also released a patch that, alongside bug fixes, adds a free new quest titled "A Jester's Visit," in which a peculiar jester appears outside the Hangman's Halter Tavern shouting about a strange new game.

The 2018 original is on sale as well—$6 for the main game and $8 with all DLC—and you don't need to play it before jumping into the sequel.
