The dispute between YouTuber Reckless Ben, the Oregon Bricks & Minifigs store, and the American Fork police has drawn widespread attention as Ben seeks to recover a family’s $200,000 Lego Star Wars collection. Patreon CEO Jack Conte announced he will not take down Ben’s videos after Bricks & Minifigs issued an “immediate content removal” request, posting his decision in a video uploaded June 2.

Conte noted the takedown notice was filed on May 29 and that Bricks & Minifigs’ lawsuit referenced Ben’s Patreon presence in a May 27 motion. Reckless Ben has fled to Mexico after a “mystery” no-bail arrest warrant from the American Fork police, and he has alleged the department may be protecting Joshua Johnson and Brandon Best, the Oregon store owners, because of shared ties to the Mormon church.
