Patient gamers unite, as 25% of you only buy your games during Steam sales
There was a time I pre-ordered every game I could, even hoping physical copies would arrive early. These days I rarely pre-order; my Steam wishlist is mainly a price-watch list, and it turns out many readers do the same. The poll results back that up: 25% of respondents say they never pay full price and wait for Steam sales or other discounts.
A larger group, 51%, will buy some games at full price but only when they’re very excited about a release. Another 18% will pay full price for cheaper indie games, while 4% buy most of their games at full price and 222 people (3%) still pre-order and pay full price for launch-day access.
That middle ground is familiar—plenty of friends splashed out for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 at launch, and many have spent $60 on Forza Horizon 6 in the last week. If you missed the poll or want to explain your choice, leave a comment and say how willing you are to spend full price.
