Paddington: The Musical heads to Broadway in 2027
Paddington Bear is heading to Broadway: Universal Music UK announced that Paddington: The Musical will play New York’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre beginning March 30, 2027. Tickets are on sale starting at $69. Universal Music UK also released a teaser of the aggressively adorable Paddington puppet making his way to Ellis Island, with the tagline, "New York, please look after this bear." The show premiered last November at the Savoy Theatre in London and won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical.
It picked up six more awards, including Best Actor, Best Director and Best Costume Design, tying the record for most wins for a musical in Olivier Award history. Tom Fletcher wrote the music and lyrics and Jessica Swale handled the script. The production is based on Michael Bond’s A Bear Called Paddington book series and StudioCanal’s 2014 Paddington film.
The musical follows Paddington’s arrival from Peru, his life with the Browns and a rescue mission after a vengeful villain targets him.
