Starz has announced that Outlander: Blood of My Blood will return for Season 2 on Sept. 18, World Outlander Day, with episodes rolling out weekly through the autumn. The news arrived alongside a teaser that picks up where the first season's cliffhanger left both central couples, stranded across two eras and separated by forces well outside their control.

Season 1 closed with Henry (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia (Hermione Corfield) Beauchamp reunited at the standing stones of Craigh na Dun after an accidental slip through time left them in 18th-century Scotland. The new footage opens on a bleaker note, showing Julia alone in the Highlands cradling her baby while a displaced Henry hunts for a route back.

The other thread follows Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) and Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater), the future parents of Jamie Fraser, whose forbidden romance is cut short when the 1715 Jacobite Rising drags the clans into war.
