Ousmane Dembele poised to extend PSG stay after standout season
RMC Sport says Ousmane Dembele is close to signing a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain after a transformative spell at the Parc des Princes. The 29-year-old has become a cornerstone of a side that claimed Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and the UEFA Champions League, and he was named Ballon d’Or winner last September.
This season has been more injury-hit, but Dembele remains a key player for Les Parisiens; his pace and crossing ability continue to make him the primary creative engine and the medical staff have worked to manage his workload. His current deal runs until 2028, and earlier doubts over an extension were eased when he told RMC Sport last month he would be "100%" at PSG next season.
Negotiations are said to be progressing positively, with club and player aligned on sporting ambitions and the hierarchy keen to reward the Ballon d’Or winner. There is no rush from either side, and an agreement is expected to be finalised after the FIFA World Cup to allow Dembele to focus on his international duties.
