A year before the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, Brazil will become the first South American host. The tournament runs between June 24 and July 25 across eight cities and iconic stadiums, including Arena Castelão in Fortaleza and Estádio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro, yet many of the tournament’s biggest questions remain open.

Several teams have already secured places: hosts Brazil, Australia, China PR, Japan, Korea DPR, Korea Republic, the Philippines, Argentina, Colombia, New Zealand and Germany, while Spain, France and Denmark have also booked spots. Major qualification windows are still to come: Europe’s playoffs run from October through early December, Africa’s places will be decided at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations beginning July 25, and Concacaf’s qualifying tournament follows in November — meaning teams such as the U.S.

must still claim their berths. Brazil brings world-class infrastructure and the experience of the 2014 men’s World Cup, with the eight chosen venues previously used in 2014.
